The farmers launched their first publication earlier this month at the UKSPA conference at Harwell. The UKSPA Innovation Directory is a directory of tenants across some 57 science parks.
The publication was well received at Harwell with a number of science parks recognising that the product, and the unified database sat behind it, are both extremely useful to the science park network in terms of stimulating collaborations between tenants.
UKSPA received one very enthusiastic response from a tenant on a science park stating that it was the first time he had received an unsolicited publication that was actually useful to his business...and with the added bonus that he had not been pestered into buying advertising.
The project is funded by Idea Farm who have taken the view that their investment in the compilation will be of value to the innovation network. Rather pleasingly several large multinationals have already enquired about sponsoring the data so that they might get access to the information. Browse the site at www.innovation-search.com.
